I don't think she should...This is a sticky one. I don't think she should lose her job because of this one unintentional incident. However, what kind of credibility will she have left? Even for those of her students who did not see it, word--i.e., gossip--spreads faster than spilt cranberry juice on white carpetting. Apparently it was a mistake and she's apologetic about it. She should probably get a reprimand, but that's really the furthest I think this should go.<br /><br />Would it have been a big deal if the teacher were a man? Maybe, though I admit I have doubts. I think a man might have been given more of the benefit of the doubt simply because "guys don't do that".
